Fire Exit Door Threshold Replacement

Scope of Works:
Removal and replacement of existing fire exit door thresholds.
Supply and installation of new aluminium step-up thresholds.
Application of CT1 sealant for a durable, weatherproof finish.
Internal and external frame sealing to prevent water ingress.
Installation of external brush strip seals.
Final testing to ensure both fire exit doors operated correctly.
To improve the weather protection of both fire exit doors, we removed the existing thresholds and replaced them with two new aluminium step-up thresholds, providing a greater upstand to help prevent rainwater from entering the building. Each threshold was carefully installed using CT1 sealant applied across the full width beneath the threshold, creating a strong, watertight bond while ensuring a secure and long-lasting fixing. This upgrade significantly improves the doorway’s resistance to water ingress, helping to protect the internal floor area and reduce the risk of future maintenance issues.
To complete the installation, we sealed the internal and external door frames and fitted external brush strip seals to both fire exit doors, creating a more effective barrier against water ingress and draughts. Every element of the work was completed to a high standard and finished with comprehensive operational checks to ensure both doors functioned safely and reliably.
